Thomas Neil Thompson

Tom was born April 19, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan. He is survived by his wife, Donna, his stepdaughter, April, his sister, Barbara and his brother-in-law, Rick. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty and his father, Neil.

In 1971, Tom graduated from Lawrence Institute of Technology with a major in accounting. His first job was as a United States customs agent on the Michigan/Canadian border. He moved to New Jersey where he was an accountant for Wakefern Food Corp. He then relocated to Ft. Myers, Florida taking a position as the financial controller for Robb and Stucky Corp. It was there that he met Donna and her daughter, April. They married on May 23, 1981 and celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary this past May. The family found their forever home in Casselberry, Florida, where Tom joined Gray Robinson Law Firm as their financial controller until retirement.

Tom loved his wife, stepdaughter, dogs, friends, and God and he was well loved in return. He enjoyed the companionship of his friends from church, whom he has been close with for over 30 years. Tom adored golf, this “chase for the hole in one” was passed down to him from his father. Tom became a great golfer, he played as often as possible with his best friend, Bill and went to many PGA tournaments. Tom was also an avid gun collector and an excellent shot. He was extremely talented in caring for their home, cars, and of course, finances. His family always felt secure and never had to worry.

And last, but definitely not least, Tom loved to travel. He and Donna enjoyed nature. Each summer they’d take their dogs and head on up to the GA Blue Ridge Mountains for a cabin vacation, April and her dogs even joined them once. Though they’d been all over Europe, Tom’s favorite trips were to the US National Parks, especially YellowStone and their 8 trips/cruises to Alaska.

A visitation for Thomas will be held Friday, June 27, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home, 7520 Aloma Avenue, Winter Park, Florida 32792. A memorial service will occur Friday, June 27, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 7520 Aloma Avenue, Winter Park, Florida 32792. A catered reception will occur Friday, June 27, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, 7520 Aloma Avenue, Winter Park, Florida 32792.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Thomas' memory may be made to St. Jude's.
