Tiodis Francisco Martinez, 64, passed away on January 27, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and deep devotion to family. Born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Tiodis built a life rooted in connection and togetherness. Over the years, he called New York, New Jersey, Rochester, Ocala, and ultimately Orlando, Florida home, carrying his vibrant spirit with him wherever he went.
Tiodis was the heart of every room he entered. Known for being the loudest voice and the biggest personality, he had a natural gift for making people smile and bringing joy to even the simplest moments. He lived by one guiding truth that he shared with his children often: family is everything. He taught those around him to lean on one another, to stay close, and to love fiercely.
Above all else, Tiodis was an extraordinary grandfather. He was a constant presence in the lives of his three grandchildren, Madeline, Isabelle, and Tiodis Martinez III. He was a constant presence in Theo’s life, lovingly caring for him each day and choosing time together over anything else, creating a bond that will last forever. He shared endless giggles with Isabelle and never missed a chance to watch Madeline shine on stage. Whether it was trips to Disney, family adventures, visits to the science museum, or even being lovingly dragged to a cowboy musical, he cherished every moment spent together.
Tiodis found happiness in life’s simple comforts. He loved a good cup of coffee, cheering on his Giants, and falling asleep to the comforting noise of his children and grandchildren filling the room. He will forever be remembered for claiming his favorite chair in every home, a quiet symbol of the way he made himself part of every space and every heart.
He is survived by his wife, Tionila Martinez; his children, Tabatha Martinez, Genevieve St. Cyr and her husband Adam St. Cyr, and Tiodis Martinez II and his wife Rachel Martinez; his beloved grandchildren, Madeline and Isabelle St. Cyr and Tiodis Martinez III; and his parents, Damaris Nunez and Nelson Martinez. He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Len.
Though our hearts are heavy, we celebrate Tiodis’ life and the countless memories he gave us. His laughter, warmth, and unwavering love for his family will live on through every story told, every game watched, every performance applauded, and every moment spent together.
