Victoria was born in Staten Island, New York on August, 28, 1968. As the daughter of a career Marine, she moved frequently throughout her childhood before her family settled in Apopka, Florida in January 1980. She graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education. Some of Victoria’s favorite college memories included reading on Landis Green and cheering on the Seminoles at FSU football games. Committed to lifelong learning, Victoria continued her education at the University of Central Florida, where she earned a Masters of Education in Educational Media, as well as a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. On February 21, 1998, she married the love of her life, Gregory Bennett Seavers, in Apopka, Florida.
Victoria began her education career with Orange County Public Schools in 1990, as a mathematics teacher at Apopka High School. She later taught at Discovery Middle School and Maitland Middle School before accepting a position at Timber Creek High School in 2001 as a member of the school’s original opening staff. Throughout her career at Timber Creek, Victoria served in many roles, including mathematics teacher, testing coordinator, media specialist, and instructional coach. While she excelled in each position, her favorite role was serving as Beta Club Sponsor, a responsibility she proudly held for 25 years. One of her most cherished projects was Operation Santa, an annual initiative in which Timber Creek partnered with local community organizations to provide Christmas gifts to children in need. Her dedication to education never wavered, and her impact reached generations of students, families, and colleagues. To many, Victoria was truly the heartbeat of Timber Creek High School. At the time of her passing, she had just begun her 37th year in education.
Outside of her professional life, Victoria found joy in reading, spending time with family, and exploring the world through travel and cruises. As a devoted member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, her faith was an important part of her life and a source of strength, hope, and purpose.
Victoria was a compassionate and selfless soul whose influence extended far beyond the classroom. She had a remarkable ability to make people feel seen, heard, and valued. As a teacher and mentor, Victoria inspired others through her wisdom, patience, and steadfast belief in their potential. As a wife and mother, she offered unconditional love, support, and endless encouragement. She was a trusted guide and a loyal partner, whose devotion and presence made her family stronger every day. Victoria celebrated every success, provided comfort during every challenge, and created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love. Her kindness, strength, and giving nature touched countless lives and will continue to be felt by all who knew her.
Victoria is survived by her loving husband Gregory Seavers; her children, Caitlyn Seavers and William Seavers; her parents, Charles and Carol Bilz; and her sister, Katherine Canouse (James Canouse).
Her legacy lives on in the thousands of students she taught, educators she mentored, the community she served, and the family she loved so deeply. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
A Requiem Service celebrating Victoria’s life and faith will be held on October 30, 2026, at 11 AM, located at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church (5873 N Dean Rd, Orlando, FL, 32817). One of Victoria’s final wishes was for an abundance of colorful, vibrant flowers to surround her service. Rather than a somber farewell, she wanted a beautiful celebration of a life filled with faith, family, friendship, and service to others.
