Bill was born in Medford, Massachusetts and moved to Orlando with his parents. He graduated from Edgewater High School in 1957. While there he played guard for the Eagles. He went on to Loyola University in New Orleans, Louisiana to begin studies toward becoming a dentist. After a year of studies, Bill decided he would pursue a career in construction alongside his father. While at Loyola, he met Myra whom he married in 1959. They moved back to Orlando and began a family, having seven children. He obtained his General Contractor license, one of the firsts in Orlando. His contractor license number is 325!
For a brief time, he took a break from construction and sold Tupperware. He also invested in a Dry Cleaning business. But his heart brought him back to construction. In the late sixties, he hit the ground running and started his own construction business, mainly remodeling residential homes. Later he purchased some lots in the Altamonte Springs area and built a neighborhood called Weathersfield and Apple Valley. There is even a street named after him called Lynchfield off 436!
Bill loved to dance and in the mid 80’s he joined a dance club called the Beach Boppers, where he met Georgette. Their eyes locked and they were inseparable from that moment on. They married and resided in the Winter Park area for 35 wonderful years. Both Georgette and Bill were very active in their community attending St Margaret Mary Church, many social events and organizations while being surrounded by numerous friends and family.
Bill was a founding member of St Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. He was instrumental in the development and building of the Church and school. He helped establish the Orlando Chapter of The Knights of Columbus which empowers Catholic men to live their faith in action through charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism.
Bill was an active member in several organizations. His involvement with the Maitland Jaycees allowed him the opportunity to be involved with the handing out of sugar cubes that contained the vaccine for polio back in the mid sixties. He was a member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce. He served as a Rector at Cursillo providing guidance to live a Christian life to all who attended. He thoroughly enjoyed his bible study group which he attended on Tuesdays for over twenty-five years. They enjoyed sharing scripture, laughs and a few rounds of golf.
Bill was a husband, a brother, a father and a friend to numerous people. He was a true Irishman and so proud of it. He adored and loved his wife, Georgette immensely. He was a provider and father of seven children whom he raised to know his Lord and Savior and he loved them deeply. He was a devout Christian and deeply devoted to God.
He will be forever missed……
Bill is survived by his devoted wife, nine children and fifteen grandchildren.
