

He joins those that have gone on before him, his parents Charlie Rider Jr. and Grace Goodvoice; his special parents George and Bertha O’Watch; his sisters, Nellie Ryder, Edith Thomson, Rosabelle Gordon and Mary Scribe; his brothers, Jim Ryder, Edwin Ryder, George Ryder and Percy Ryder; his adopted daughter Donna Thompson and two special grandsons, Bradley Whitecap and Roman McNabb.
He leaves to mourn his passing and to celebrate his life, his loving wife of 59 years, Rena(Jack) Ryder and children, Leanne Hotomanie, Kimberly Spencer, Belinda Whitecap (Art), Lyle Spencer (Andrea), Jackie Thompson-Osceola (Steve) and Dawnie Thompson (Albert); Special grandchildren, Stacey Hotomani(Eldon), Lindsay Hotomanie, Katherine Whitecap (Daniel), Lisa Watson (Morley), Keelind Haywahe and Trey Littletent (Sheyenne).
His siblings, Vincent Ryder(Geraldine), Merk O’Watch(Rosie), Clyde O’Watch(Bernice), Rose O’Watch, Susan Eashappie(Louis) and Mae O’Watch.
As well as numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
Dad was a Queen’s Own Rifleman veteran, community elder, residential school survivor, farmer, councilman and a major player in numerous band related developments. He was an active role model to the community for many years. Dad enjoyed being outdoors with his gardens, horses and dogs. He enjoyed his trips to various places and would travel all summer to different powwows, setting up camp and encouraging the kids and grandkids to dance and sing powwow. He followed his tradition and believed in the ceremonies.

Wake to be held at his home Wednesday December 31st, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. and Funeral will be held at Carry The Kettle Band Hall January 1st, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.
Family kindly requests that no children are to attend and appreciate that all personal cellular devices be turned off.
