Anita Marie Yvette Young (Perras)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother.

Mom passed away peacefully April 22, 2021 at the age of 90 years. In the past 10 months, Mom fought a brave battle with cancer before God called her home to once again be with Dad.

Anita will be lovingly remembered by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters, brothers and many friends.

Anita was born and raised in Montmartre SK, then met and married Edward Young and lived on the farm north of Vibank. Together with Dad, they worked hard, raising their family, farming and eventually moving into town. Mom worked beside Dad as the custodians at the Vibank School for 17 years before retiring to enjoy numerous hobbies. Every spring she looked forward to planting her garden. Visiting with her family and friends was always an enjoyment whether at her house or away from home.

Anita was predeceased by her loving husband Edward Frank Young; parents Edmond and Alma Perras, Eva Perras and Dad's parents Jacob and Anne Young. She was also predeceased by her brothers and sisters: Remi Perras, Leon Perras, Florence Paziuk and Jean Potts; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Chris Young, Elmer Young, Mike Young, Lena Kraft, Jean Selinger and Margaret Tverkutes.

Mom's memory remains with her children: Lynette (Wayne) Kowalyshyn of Montmartre, Cindy (Pat) Fuchs of White City, Edwin (Yvette) Young of Vibank, Corinne (Clifford) Lockert of Endeavour and Dean Young of Vibank. She has 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Anita's sisters and brothers: Kathy Bank, Yvonne Turgeon, Maurice Perras, Jules Perras, Bernard Perras and Clem Perras remain as well as Dad's sisters and brothers: Delores Perras, Loretta Poile, Johanna LaBelle, Robert Young, Albert Young, Gordon Young and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to sincerely thank the staff and residents of Hayes Haven, Indian Head for their care and friendship to Mom during her time living there. We also extend our gratitude to Dr. Butler, Dr. Zimmerman, the staff at the Indian Head Union Hospital and the EMS personnel for your care and comfort to Mom.

Thank you to family, friends and neighbours for your kindness over the past years.

Due to the on-going Covid-19 protocols, a private visitation and funeral for our immediate family only has taken place. A memorial service for Mom at a later date is pending.

Family and friends wishing to make a donation in Mom's memory may do so to either the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina, SK S4P 2R3 ( or St. Paul's Roman Catholic Parish, Box 205, Vibank, SK S0G 4Y0.

Rest in Peace Forever Mom.

Anita . What can I say . Never enough . She was such a dear sister . She had that way about her , her Witt , her humor , her smile and her tongue in cheek. Anita was a hard worker from milking cows every day and separating the milk and cream and shipping the cream cans every week . Raising chickens and then butchering them in fall. I remember seeing those chickens flying around with no heads until they died . So many memories l could talk about . I really enjoyed summers I spent out at the farm helping Ed with hay ingredients and everything else . Anita could make you laugh when you wanted to cry and she always had a shoulder to cry on . We will miss you dearly and our visits . Rest in peace dear sister . Love you .

Condolences to the family from our family. I always enjoyed the times I would run into Anita, one of my favorite ladies in town and you could always expect some hilarious comment from her. One of my favorite memories of her was a couple of years ago and I met her at the store and she had a couple of heavier bags to walk home with, since it was winter and cold out, I offered her a ride home. She wouldn't hear of it as she "needed the exercise" however I did manage to convince her to let me take the bags home for her. May your memories of her be a source of comfort to all of you. She will definitely be missed. RIP

Our deepest sympathies to all the family. “Grandma Young”, as she was known to our family, was a great neighbour. We will miss our many chats while out in the yard as we discussed family and the world in general. Her garden/yard was always immaculate, her pride and joy. She had a wonderful green thumb. We will miss her.

I was so fortunate to see and visit with Auntie Anita at Uncle Ian's Memorial. She looked so wonderful and happy and it fills me with gratitude to know that she was happy and had a good quality of life the whole way through. Sincere condolences to my cousins and her siblings at this sad time. It's never a good or easier time to lose a mom. It's surely a profound loss to lose a sibling as well. Love and hugs to everyone. ❤❤❤

I am very sorry to hear of the loss of yourMom.
I only knew her for a few months, but in that short time she was the funniest, spunky, sarcastic little firecracker . Anita was always so kind and so talkative, I will miss seeing her working on her crossword puzzles.
May you all find comfort and peace in this time
