She was born on July 11, 1929, in Indian Head, Saskatchewan. At the age of 6, her family moved to Regina where she attended Kitchener School and Scott Collegiate. After graduating from Reliance Business College, Bunny worked as a secretary at the Coop Creamery. She met Doug Norton at a Katepwa Lake dance and they married on November 18, 1950. They had 5 children: Terry (Debbie), Rand (Toni), Shelly (Gordon), Marsha (Donnie) and Larry. She has 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great- great-grandchildren.
An active community member, Bunny served as the secretary for the Balcarres United Church, was a member of the UCW and Saltoun Tipperary Social Circle, and volunteered for the Meals-on-Wheels program. She enjoyed the farm life and raising their children. Her greatest loves were her family, spending time at the lake, walking, baking and gardening (especially her flowers).
Predeceased by her husband Doug Norton; parents Howard and Marie MacKay and sister Shirley Wolfe. Bunny was beloved by all who had the good fortune to know and appreciate her loving and kind spirit.
The funeral service will be held in St. Paul Anglican Church, Balcarres, SK on Friday, August 6, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Pat Lyster officiating. Cremation with a private family interment in Balcarres Cemetery will take place.
