OBITUARY
Doreen Rapp
May 20, 1941 – September 13, 2020
It is with deep sorrow and much love we announce the passing of Doreen Rapp of Kipling, SK on September 13, 2020 at the age of 79.
Doreen will be lovingly remembered by her children Barry (Diane) Rapp of Regina, Dorothy (John) Schuweiler of Regina, and Lorraine (Darren) Blazeiko of Brandon, grandchildren Taryn (Dylan) & Kalen Rapp and Brooke & Jake Blazeiko.
Doreen was predeceased by the love of her life, Willy, her parents Ed & Elsie Zepick and her sister Marj Welburn.
Doreen was born in Kipling on May 20, 1941 and lived on the family farm until her senior year when she moved into town. On July 16, 1960, she married her sweetheart Willy and they built a beautiful life together for 57 years. They retired and moved off of the farm in 2009 to a house in Kipling which left them more time to perfect some of their favorite pastimes such as curling, spending many hours at the Friendship Centre, playing cards and enjoying the company of so many great friends that they made over the years. Doreen had a real passion for gardening and kept it up until her health would no longer allow. She moved from her house to Rudyard Manor in August of 2019 and was enjoying the many visits from other residents and spending time in the Common Room playing cards and visiting. She was settling in very nicely until her failing health required her to move into the nursing home in Wawota in February and then a final move back home to the one in Kipling in April.
Doreen was always volunteering for many community organizations, particularly the church where she devoted her life to loving the Lord. She often took a leadership role and was always a person that many respected and would often seek her advice. She had many hobbies and interests that filled her time such as sewing, quilting and baking and she always meticulously completed each task. Her talents were seemingly endless and her time was always filled. Many years ago she took an interest in Calligraphy and did such a beautiful job that she was asked to provide this style of writing for all of the participant certificates at the annual Music Festival for many years. She was very kind-hearted and her phone and doorbell would always ring as so many family and friends genuinely enjoyed talking and visiting with her. She loved and appreciated every single conversation that she had and always had time to spend with others.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Doreen can be made to the Kipling Integrated Health Centre or Christ Lutheran Church, Kipling.

We were saddened by the news of Doreen’s passing but take comfort that she is in a better place and now with Willy, her life mate. There are so many happy memories of Doreen that is remembered by our Family. She was always so generous and happy to share her home, hospitality, cooking and love with everyone. And, I will always remember her fantastic breakfast sausage that I enjoyed so much. Our kids also have great memories of visiting the Rapp’s farm when we came back to Kipling to visit. Those times are priceless. And, she did so much for the community and raised such a great family with Willy. We will miss her dearly but will never forgot the good she brought to this world. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
