

Dorothy was predeceased by her parents George and Elizabeth Down; husband Alex; daughters: Judy, Pat, Mary Jean and Isabelle; great grandson Mathew and by thirteen of her siblings.
She is survived by her children: Wallis (Val) Chay, Joan (Ron) Kisil and Michael Chay; sons-in-law Larry Hillmer and Daryl McBride; grandchildren: Alex (Joanne), Dawn (Chris), Mark (Ashlyn), Chris (Melissa), Tim (Pam), Brant (Jess), Brianne (Steven), Jeff, Steven and Caitlin; great grandchildren: Owen, Max, Kayla, Grayden, Halistyn, Kenedi, Laila, Nathan, Brexlee and Jack; her twin brother Don; sister Blanche; many in-laws; nieces and nephews.
Dorothy loved her family very much. She was involved in many activities throughout her life, such as: sports, 4-H, the Catholic Church and the Friendship Centre.
Dorothy was born in Fairlight, Saskatchewan and later lived in Moosomin, Saskatchewan. She then moved to Wolseley for work as a telephone operator. She married Alex Chay and made Wolseley her forever home.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Fillmore and Wolseley Nursing Homes, as well as the Indian Head Hospital.
A visitation for Dorothy will be held Friday, May 30, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Tubman Funeral Home, Wolseley. The funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Anne's R.C. Church, Wolseley, Saskatchewan on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. by Rev. Francis Hengen. The pallbearers will be Alex Chay, Chris McBride, Tim McBride, Brant McBride, Mark Hillmer and Jeff Kisil. The interment will follow mass in St. Anne's Parish Cemetery, Wolseley, Saskatchewan.
