Doug K Caswell

He was predeceased by his father Percy, mother Freeda and son Clinton.

Doug is survived by Lil, his loving wife of 63 years, sons Tim (Debbie), Collin (Tamara); granddaughters Brittany (Andrew) Wilson, Alisa (Andrew) Jensen and Erin Caswell; great grandchildren Jessana Lee, Jean-Luc and Lyra Wilson, Liam and Oliver Jensen. siblings Shirley (Leo) Lander and Ken (Doris) Caswell along with numerous nieces and nephews. As well as Lil’s brothers, sisters and their families.

Doug was born January 27, 1937, in Wolseley, Saskatchewan where he grew up on the family dairy farm, Prairie Park Jerseys. Doug met the love of his life and married Lillie Caroline Fehler on April 10, 1959. Doug and Lil moved to Regina where he became a mechanic at the Sears garage. Doug’s love for farming brought them back to Wolseley and the dairy farm in 1961, Doug worked with his father until he took over the dairy farm in 1973. It was during this time they were blessed with three sons, Timothy, Clinton and Collin. In 1983 after Doug’s farm accident where he lost his arm, he became very active with the Saskatchewan Abilities Council and Farmers with Disabilities. Doug reached out to many people and was always available when called as a contact for families going through the trauma of a farming accident. He continued to farm until 2013 when he decided it was time to retire to the house he and Lil built in Wolseley. They purchased property at Katepwa Lake and moved a house from Balcarres where they enjoyed time spent with family and friends. Doug shared the love of skiing with his three sons and continued to ski long after his accident. Doug loved to dance and could be found traveling Southern Saskatchewan with Lil. He had a passion for steam engines, trains, and old farm equipment. He looked forward to visiting with his grandchildren and great grandchildren who always brought a huge smile to his face.

The service took place in the Chapel of Tubman Funeral Home in Wolseley, Saskatchewan on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., with a private family interment.
