

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Felix Frederick Ashdohonk, Wamní Cóyak Maní (Walks Amongst the Eagles), at the age of 92 years. Felix was born on January 15, 1933 on Carry The Kettle (Assiniboine Reserve) and died on May 22, 2025 in Indian Head, Saskatchewan.
He was predeceased by his father John Ashdohonk; mother Annie Goodvoice Ashdohonk; brothers: Alec Ashdohonk, Jerome Ashdohonk, Tony Ashdohonk and Hilliard Ashdohonk; sister Alice Lavallee; son Darrel Mcrae and special granddaughter Charlene Thomson.
Felix is survived by his special niece Illa Aisaican, whom he took as his daughter; his son Bradly; grandchildren: Terra, Arlene (Mitch), Marcel and Lauren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; his extended adopted family: Ivan Thomson Sr. (Fairlene), Landa (Eddie), Tamara (Trevor), Jackie (Dwayne), Mickey (Beth), Burton and Lisa; his special friend Gordon Webster and many other family members too numerous to name.
Felix made many friends throughout his life. He worked many jobs over the years until his retirement in 2018. He enjoyed his days sitting on his deck, watching all his great-great-grandchildren play and visiting with family and friends. He loved going for drives around the lake, attending powwows and doing yard work. Felix enjoyed telling many of his stories about growing up and working. He was a very kindhearted man who will forever hold a special place in all the hearts of everyone who knew him.
A wake was held in the Community Hall on Carry The Kettle First Nation on Monday, May 26, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. The funeral took place in the same location on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Rev. Francis Hengen. The interment was held in Carry The Kettle First Nation Middle Cemetery. The pallbearers were Marcel Aisaican, Lauren Aisaican, Carson Aisaican, Tylan Weisbrod, Junior Tawiyaka and Tyson Thomson. The Honorary pallbearers were Ivan Thomson Sr., Murray Ashdohonk, Anthony Spencer, Gordon Webster, Darwin Saulteaux, Scott Eashappie and Suzie Thomson.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Carry The Kettle Homecare Staff and the doctors and nurses at Indian Head Union Hospital for all their care and support.
