Alice Geraldine (Gerry) Bonk of Wolseley passed away peacefully in the Indian Head Union Hospital on Sunday, April 25, 2021 at the age of 89 years.
She was predeceased by her first husband John Alexander (Alex) Begg, parents Foster and Lilian Lamb, brother Robert (Bob) Lamb, brother Charles (Charlie) Lamb, son Robert Fraser (Bob) Begg; husband Andrew Joseph Bonk, step sons David and Victor Bonk, step daughter-in-law Peggy Bonk, step grandson Colin Bonk and step grandson-in-law Greg Halwachs.
Alice (Gerry) is survived by her daughter Kristine Joyce (Norman) Schneider, granddaughters Brandee (Adrien) Bourgeois, Jenna (Massoud) Khoury, grandsons Darren (Jolene Kokoski) Schneider, Regan (Ashley) Schneider, great grandchildren Brody and Josee Bourgeois, George, Angelo and Julian Khoury, Rikki, Rylee-Jo and Kaylee Schneider, and Henrick Schneider. She is also survived by step sons Lorne (Dianne) Bonk, Norman (Joanne) Bonk, step daughter-in-law Joan Bonk, step grandchildren Noelle Bonk, Steven (Candace) Bonk, Rachael (Scott) Gannon, Keri Bonk-Dolynchuk (Jason), Chad (Paula) Bonk, and great grandchild Emma Bonk.
Alice (Gerry) was born in St. Boniface, Manitoba on September 15, 1931 and raised in Transcona, Manitoba. Gerry married John Alexander (Alex) Begg in April of 1951. Alex was in the Royal Canadian Air Force. Together they raised two children Kristine and Robert (Bob) Begg. The family mostly lived in Northern Manitoba. Upon John Alexander (Alex) Begg's retirement, he and Gerry decided to move to Sintaluta, Saskatchewan in the mid 1970's as this was Alex's birth place. Alex passed away on November 26, 1979. Gerry later moved to Wolseley, Saskatchewan and she married Andrew Bonk in October of 1983. Andrew passed away on August 18, 1998.
Gerry had many talents including a passion for gardening, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and embroidery. She began painting in 1999 and loved to work with pastel. Her work included landscape, floral and animal compositions. She was a beautiful singer, and played the piano and organ. She has tried her hand at many crafts including wire jewellery, beading, pottery and porcelain doll making. She was a member of Ellisboro Artisans Guild. Gerry was an avid reader. She also had a love for cats. Gerry will be lovingly remembered by her family, friends and Wolseley New Life Church family.
Due to Covid restrictions, a private service will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor John Taylor officiating. A livestream for this service will be available at 1:45 p.m. with the link below.

Grandma I remember the times spent with you as a child and will remember the times you came to the farm for suppers and to celebrate holidays.
Thank you for being there in my special moments such as my high school graduation and wedding. Brody & Josee still have the quilts you gave them as newborns. We will miss you grandma.
