

Harold Olive, beloved husband, father, granddad and great granddad passed away peacefully on August 20, 2005. The funeral service was held on Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Luke's Anglican Church, Regina, Sask., with Rev. Willie Lourens officiating Interment followed in the Ellisboro Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. The casket bearers were: Darren Olive, Alan Olive, Cameron Fehler, Darren Demchuk, Wayne Olive and Curt Huenison.
Harold lived eighty-eight wonderful years, sixty-two of them spent with his devoted wife and best friend Edith. Harold was born and raised on the family farm in the lovely Qu'Appelle Valley north of Wolseley. He served with the Royal Canadian Air Force in Souris, Manitoba from 1942-45. He loved his family and his farm and possessed a deep dedication to the community within which he lived. He served on the Board of the Wolseley Credit Union for 31 years, approximately 28 of them as President. He was a lifelong member of the Wolseley Cooperative Association, serving on its board for many years. In 1990 he was awarded the Saskatchewan Cooperative Merit Award in recognition of his commitment to the cooperative movement. He served as a school trustee for the Wolseley Consolidated School District and provincially as President of the Consolidated Schools Section of the Saskatchewan Schools Trustees Association. After retirement he served as President of the Wolseley Museum Board for a number of years. Harold was a life member of the Odd Fellows Lodge rising through the district ranks to the Grand Lodge. He was passionate about his Church, serving for several years as a warden and treasurer of the Ellisboro Anglican Church and Wolseley St. George's Anglican Church. Upon moving to Regina in 1999, he became a faithful member of St. Lukes Anglican Parish.
He will be sadly missed by his loving family: wife Edith; children: David (Francie), Wilson (Carole) and Evelyn (Dale); step-mother Edna; sisters Ethel and Dorothy; grandchildren: Darren (Pam), Alan (Sherry), Wayne, Andrea, Keri (Darren), Cam (Sharon) and Janice; great grandchildren: Grant, Joely, Ashley, Leah and Brayden and other family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Alf; sisters Charlotte and Alice as well infant granddaughters Amy and Aron.
