Harry was born in the Corning District to Allan and Grace Wood. He grew up on the family farm and farmed with his father. He later moved to Winnipeg, MB for the winter to work as a welder for his brother-in-law Arnold Doucette.
Harry met Kay in Winnipeg and they were married on May 24, 1958. They moved to the Corning District, where they farmed and raised their three children. In 2011, Harry and Kay moved off the farm to live in Kipling, Saskatchewan. Harry and Kay enjoyed taking the whole family camping, including taking all of the grandchildren with them.
Harry will be remembered for his love of farming and trucking, custom hauling for 10-15 years. He was an active and devoted farmer, but also drove school bus for 12 years. His life was marked by hard work, dedication and a genuine kindness that touched all who knew him.
A true son of the land, Harry farmed with perseverance until the day he died. Farming was more than a career to him, it was a way of life that he cherished deeply. He had a focus on custom hauling and leaves that legacy. He was honored by his grandchildren and their interest in farming, animals and agriculture life, especially by the careers of Nicole and Lisa.
