Jenaya Mary- Mae Wapemoose

We are saddened to announce the passing of Jenaya, she was missing from her family since April 2019 and was located in October 2019. Jenaya was predeceased by her mother, Edna Marie Wapemoose; her sisters Joannie and Jessica Wapemoose and her stillborn baby J Wapemoose.

She is survived by her daughter Annabella Wapemoose; her first love Cory Desnomie; father Lee (Leah) Desjarlais; her brothers Joseph, Jerry (Agnes), and Julian Wapemoose; her sisters Josephine and Jackie (Gordon) Wapemoose; her special nieces Taylor, Jasmine, Kyra and Rosey Wapemoose; Special Aunties Debbie (Owen) Delorme, Jeannie (Sidney) Ewenin and Wanda Desjarlais and Uncle Ronnie Ewenin ; Mushoom Jubilee Wapemoose and Kokum Flora Bob and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunties and uncles and relatives.

Wake will be held on Cowessess First Nation in the Community Hall on Friday, November 8, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. with funeral services on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Band Elders officiating. Jenaya will be laid to rest in the Wapemoose family cemetery.

The family would like to thank all volunteers who assisted and aided in the search of Jenaya in May 2019 as well as the Cowessess First Nation and Cowessess Urban Dept. who contributed greatly; the family would like to thank the Regina Police Service (RPS) for their extensive work in locating Jenaya as well as all media outlets for sharing and updating Jenaya’s missing persons case during the time of her disappearance.
