February 23, 1941 – July 26, 2020
John Anton Boehmer of Indian Head, SK died on Sunday, July 26, 2020 at the age of 79 years. Due to covid 19 restrictions, a private family graveside service will be held in the All Saints Anglican Cemetery at Katepwa, SK.
John was born on February 23, 1941 in Duval, Saskatchewan. He married Eldeen (nee McGirr) in St. Lucia in 1999. He was a proud father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, racing snowmobiles, camping and quadding. He was a welder by trade and was proud that he had every ticket given and never failed one. He was a member of the Elks Club and was a councillor of the District of Katepwa for 21 years. He enjoyed many happy hours at his cottage at Katepwa South and loved it when family and friends would visit at the cottage and talk about the good old days and stay for a barbeque supper. He also loved to travel, play cards, watch birds and took in the fascination and peace that Mother Nature so openly provided.
John was predeceased by his parents Mary and Bill Boehmer; sisters Isabel Wingert and Evelyn Osborne; daughter Deana-Lee and granddaughter Brandy-Lee. He is survived by his loving wife Eldeen; son Shawn (Sheila) Boehmer; daughter Fawn (Scott) Cheston; stepson Scott (Sheila) Maddocks; stepdaughter Karen Ulmer; grandchildren Kyle (Twyla), Riccie-Lee, Stephanie (Scott), Randall, Amanda (Dan) and Emmett (Becky); great grandchildren Roy, Emma, Patience, Carson and a little princess due in September; sister Dianne (John) Becker; brothers-in-law Ken Wingert and Harold Osborne (Julie); mother-in-law Marjorie McGirr; sisters-in-law Judith (Dan) Kesslar and Verda (Morley) Longley and many nieces and nephews.
If friends so desire, contributions of remembrance may be made to the Elks & Royal Purple Fund for Children, #100 - 2629 29th Avenue, Regina, SK S4S 2N9.
Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. B. Zimmerman and to the staff of the Indian Head Hospital who supported and cared, so well, for John on his journey.

So sorry to hear of Johns passing. I worked with John at Brandt from 1992 to his retirement. We worked many hours together in the shop, Ipsco shutdowns and out of province equipment instillations. Always had a good time with John. He always invited my family to come to his cabin, he was always happy to see my wife and my kids, and we were always happy to see him. Rest In Peace old friend. Our condolences to his family. -Ken,Debbie,Courtney,Chris, Jason and Erica

So, so many memories. We were so lucky when John and Eldeen welcomed our Dad, Ed Curtis, into their home, and their lives. We became family. But one memory stands out - New Year's Eve, some year long past, when John took Mom, Rose Ann, snowshoeing. They were a little intoxicated, but that didn't stop them. She was SO excited. She called me in Victoria, to tell me all about it.....at midnight! That was John - just fun.
We loved him. Eldeen, I'm so sorry for your loss. With love, Kathy

Many hours spent around the kitchen table or on the deck discussing the next big project we were going to tackle. Regular walks with maxxie to visit molly or duck out of the rain. Always a nice cool drink and great visit no matter what the reason for stopping. John loved the lake, his family and friends. Him and Eldeen made everyone welcome. My condolences to Eldeen and family. He will be missed. RIP John forever katepwa souths angel.
