

John was predeceased by his parents Sam and Faith.
He will be remembered lovingly by his wife of 49 years, Catherine ,and their children, Deborah (Doug), David, Michael, Helen(Nolan), Judith (Jeremy) as well as his grandchildren Philip, Jordan, Zachary, Bradley, Caylin, Jaxon, Carter, Logan, Cruz and Mya.
John was born in Leeds and spent his early years in York, England, He attended Chorley Teacher Training College and London School of Economics before finishing his education at the University of Regina.
John emigrated to Canada in 1968, with his then small family , Catherine and Deborah, which later increased to include David, Michael, Helen and Judith.
He held different teaching positions , where he tried to impart his love of history and Shakespeare to his students.
John was very active in sports who was a member of both the basketball and track and field teams in University. During his tenure in Montmartre he formed a track and field club that was active all over Saskatchewan as well as the United States. Golf, swimming, running and weightlifting were all activities that he participated in during his earlier years.
Acting was a passion he fulfilled in England, having roles in productions such as King Lear, Hamlet and Macbeth, just to name a few. Notably, John received the great honour of being offered a part with the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford.
John was also an advance piano player, who achieved his Grade 8 and advanced Recognition from the Royal Academy of Music, in London, England.
During his latter years , John suffered many hardships in his health . It is with much sorrow yet great gratitude that his family has seen him relieved of all his struggles and finally at peace. The family appreciate all your thoughts and prayers during this time.
