Wolf and Erica:
I recently learned of your Mother's passing. My sincerest sympathy to you and your families on your loss. Katharina was a wonderful lady. I do know that Hilde was very fond of her Aunt and given your Mom's warm personality it was easy to understand why.
After Hilde's passing your Mother and I kept in touch for many years. There was the occasional visit, letters and phone chats. Katharina was such an easy person to be with,had a great sense of humour and was always interested in family, friends and the wider world. It was a privilege to have known your Mother.
It was nice that she celebrated her 100th Birthday in November. I do hope that she enjoyed the recognition that goes with reaching that impressive milestone. She had earned it.
Condolences and Best Wishes;
Roy Richford , Victoria ,BC

To Katharina's family,
What a joy it was to know your mom after she moved to Rudyard Manor. She was a great conversationalist and was so interested in people. My sister Evelyn also lived at the manor and they shared many conversations in German. I was so saddened to hear when she moved to Wawota as I knew I wouldn't get to visit with her often. However my last visit with Katharina was in March just before Covid struck. I just enjoyed our time together so much. The half hour just flew by! She was admired by so many people and left an indelible impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing her. It was a joy to know her.
Offering deepest sympathy,
Elsie Pearson.
