Louise was predeceased by her beloved husband, Gerry, less than a year ago. Their love was profound and unwavering, being apart proved too difficult after a lifetime spent side by side.
A hard working and dedicated woman, Louise lived her life guided by strong values and deep morals. She was known not only for her resilience and strength but also for her wicked sense of humour which brought laugher and light to those around her.
Louise was a devoted mother who raised three children while playing an integral role on the family farm. Alongside her husband, she worked tirelessly, milking cows and caring for a wide range of animals including chickens, pigs, turkeys, ducks and of course cows. One of her favourite things to do was check the cows during the calving season even up to the day the cows were sold.
Her commitment to both her family and farm was unwavering and her efforts helped build a life rooted in love, hard work and perseverance.
After Mom and Dad sold the milk cows in 1985, Mom went on to work at the Broadview Centennial Lodge, first as a cook and later in housekeeping. She thoroughly enjoyed her time at the Lodge, creating special bonds with the residents under her care as well as with coworkers.
Mom was an amazing cook and took great pride in teaching her daughter and granddaughters the special craft of bread making and canning-but no one could ever quite duplicate her delicious cabbage rolls. Her sons were blessed with the “awesome cooking” gene as both sons could out cook any chef any day.
After retiring, mom was busier than ever, spending cherished time with her grandchildren and later enjoying her passion for quilting and her time with her Red Hat/Crown Jewels Ladies.
Mom always had a pot of coffee on and a plate of baked goodies would seem to appear magically whenever company stopped by. Her home was a place of warmth, comfort, laughter and welcome to all.
She will be deeply missed by her son Kevin (Bette); daughter Trish (Gord) and son Dave (Shannon) along with 9 grandchildren (plus 2 bonus granddaughters) and 9 great-grandchildren which will carry her legacy onward with pride.
The interment will be held in the Oakshela Cemetery, Oakshela, Saskatchewan on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow in the Peace Lutheran Church, Grenfell, Saskatchewan at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Joshua Kurtenbach officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kinsmen Telemiracle, 2217C Hanselman Court, Saskatoon, SK S7L 6A8.
