

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Marilyn Stevenson, at the age of 74 years, of the Chacachas First Nation. After a courageous and dignified battle, she was called home to be with the Lord and passed peacefully on Thursday, December 4, 2025, in the Broadview Centennial Lodge.
Marilyn was predeceased by her parents Margaret Rose Bear (nee: Assiniboine) and Marlowe Kanowasquahum; brother Mervin Bear; a sister in infancy; her sisters: Pearl Jack, Eileen Farkas, Linda Gatrell and Sharon Bear and her grandchildren Lori "Chucky" and Christopher.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband Clark Stevenson; her children: Liberty, Matthew, Roger, Lodi, Jackie and Natalie; siblings: Bernice (Louis) Taypotat, Gail (Nyle) Bear, Winston Bear, Cheryl Thomas and Alice Paton (traditionally adopted). Marilyn was blessed with 22 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, who were truly her heart. Marilyn also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and extended family members from across Saskatchewan and beyond. Her love reached far and her presence touched many lives.
A wake for Marilyn will be held in the Chief Denton George Memorial Multiplex, Ochapowace First Nation on Monday, December 8, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. with a service at 7 p.m., officiated by Bernard Hoss Jack. The funeral service will take place in the same location on Tuesday, December 8, 2025 at 11:30 a.m., officiated by William Pinacie. The interment will take place on Chacachas First Nation after the funeral service, with lunch to follow in the Chief Denton George Memorial Multiplex.
The Stevenson family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the health care staff of Broadview Centennial Lodge for the compassionate care provided to Marilyn during her stay.
