She was predeceased by parents McKay and Agnes Saulteaux; husband Earl Runns; children: Orville, Delina Phyllis and Pernell; 2 sons and 1 daughter in infancy; several grandchildren in infancy; brothers: Ralph, Gordon and William Saulteaux; step parents Shirley and Glen Thomson; adopted mother Kaye Thompson; adopted brother Bryan and adopted sister Donna Thompson.
Marion is survived by her special friend Murray Ashdohonk; children: Pearleen (Ralph), Lori Ann, Everett and Keith; sisters: Lorraine (Delmar) Runns, Fairlene (Ivan) Thomson, Linda (Duncan) Thomson and Delia Adams; aunt Cora Thomson; uncle Louis Eashappie; step brothers and sisters: Corwin, Howie, Wendell, Bryan, Emery, Cory, Aaron, Rowena, Cindy and Lydia; adopted sisters: Diane, Gail, Leanne, Vera and Sonia; special nephew Deloy Kennedy; 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The wake will be held in the residence of Marion Runns, Carry The Kettle First Nation on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. Funeral service will also be held in the residence on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with Donnell & Michelle Thomson and Rev. Bernice Saulteaux officiating. Interment will take place in South Cemetery. Lunch to follow burial at the Elder’s Lodge.
Pallbearers are Scott Runns, Michael Runns, Andrew Runns, Brian Runns, Tytus Runns and Burton Thomson.
The family wish to express their appreciation to Lori Ann, Lorraine Runns, Suzie Thomson and Indian Head EMT’s and Ambulance for their efforts to revive Marion. Also to the Coroner, Lee’s Funeral Home and Tubman Funeral Home. A huge thank you to the O’Watch family for the generosity of the food after their funeral service.
