
He was predeceased by his mother Rose Alma Rabbitskin; sister Arlene Goodwill (Rabbitskin); brother Frank Virgil Geddes (Rabbitskin); step-father George Kequahtooway; step-brothers Warren and Gilbert Kequahtooway; step-sister Lana Kequahtooway; and brother-in-law Patrick Whitehat. Melvin is survived by his brothers Norman (Brenda) Geddes, Randy (Natalie) Geddes, Garry Rabbitskin, Cameron (Charlene) Rabbitskin, Wayne (Debbie) Kequahtooway, Alvin (Rosalie) Kequahtooway; sisters Glenda Rabbitskin, Tammy (Mike) Rabbitskin, Francine (Jesse) Kequahtooway; and his father Jim Geddes. He is also survived by his children Jesse, Cheyanne, Destiny, and Christopher as well as numerous grandchildren, family and friends.
A wake will be held in the Sakimay Community Complex, Sakimay First Nation on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at 4:00 p.m.
A feast will be held on Friday, September 9, at 11:00 a.m. and the funeral service will be held in the Complex at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Brig Judy and Band Elders officiating.
Interment in Sakimay Cemetery.
