After attending Normal School, she taught for a short time in Val Marie, SK before returning to Broadview to teach in Clifton, a one room country school. She left teaching in 1939 to marry Arthur Basil Coe and start her family. Times were tough in the 30s and Basil and Naomi made a living working on Broadview area farms.
Basil enlisted in the Canadian Army but was invalided out and spent most of the next couple of years in and out of Grey Nuns Hospital in Regina while Naomi held the family together. Basil was then employed with the CPR in Broadview where they lived until 1971. After a short stint in Portage la Prairie, they retired in Regina.
Naomi was very active as a volunteer in both Broadview and Regina in church and library related activities, the VON, the Saskatchewan History and Folklore Society, and the flower gardens at Government House. She remained very active with Sunset United Church and loved to garden and travel.
Naomi was entirely self-sufficient in various residences until 2009 when she moved to the Rawlinson Cres Care Home.
Naomi is predeceased by her husband Basil Coe in 1990, daughter Joyce Jamieson in 1984, grand-daughter Cortney Coe in 2000, son-in-law Rick Meek in 2006.
She is survived by her children Bill (Julita) and Bernice (Dennis) Yaskowich and son-in-law Mac Jamieson, grandchildren; Patti (Al) Thurmeier, Wayne (Lesley) Meek, Amanda, Angelica and Yvonne Coe, great grandchildren who will miss their G.G, Robert, Riley and Kyle Thurmeier and Samantha, Ryan and Dylan Meek, and a great-great granddaughter, Calla Marie Bergsveinson.
