So very sorry to hear of Neil's passing. I got to know Neil when we attended a bible study.  When our family lived on the Pearson farm, Neil would offer me a ride to bible study and we had many good discussions.  He was a man of great character, quick to laugh and share a story and often some wise words.  I hope Neil knew that many people admired & cared about him and how his witness of the gospel was powerful and well received. RIP my friend.

My Mom, Evelyn Knutson, tells of when I was 3 that Neil took me by the hand and led me off to Sunday School at Grace Canadian Lutheran. His faith was at work even then.

We were so shocked and saddened to hear of Neil’s untimely passing.  He was such a gentle kind person who always had time for a little chat.  He always remembered  his customers and made you feel special. He had a good sense of humour.   We will miss him in the store.  It won’t be the same place without Neil.

Paul, Marlene and family, my deepest condolences on Neil’s passing.  I was heartbroken when Paul called.  I’m still in shock.  I have very fond memories of Neil when we were growing up.  He was so kind and caring as a child. Just as he was as an adult. I always loved to go to the farm as a kid. He taught  me some important life lessons as the older and much wiser cousin.  Neil, you will be missed by all who knew you and whose lives you touched. 

Dear Paul and Marlene and family,
We were so sorry and saddened to hear about Neil's passing in this unexpected and tragic way. 
Neil and I went to school together. We spent 2 years going to weekly confirmation classes and taught Sunday School classes together. And after church we would spend countless hours in conversation at the Esso having french fries and cokes. Through the years, when we would meet at Broadview events, we would be back to sharing stories and laughing, even if we had not seen each other for some time.  Neil was lots of fun,  was a great conversationalist, and was such a kind and caring man. 
What a loss for the Broadview and Kipling communities, for you, the family, and for all of us. 
We hope you have many "happy memories" of your times together to strengthen and guide you through this tough time.

Our sincere condolences to Neil's family and friends. 

Our family was shocked and saddened by news of Neil's passing. Our boys worked with Neil through their high school years. Not a single visit to the Co-Op in the years since ended without Neil's asking how and where the boys are now. It was clear that Neil loved people and working with the public. Our thoughts and prayers are with Neil's loved ones.

My condolences to the family & friends, he was always working hard at Co-op! Always friendly and would have a small chat as bagged things! I enjoyed those tiny chats. Made shopping enjoyable

We will always picture Neil in his robe on a summer Sunday morning with his shorts and sandals peeking out. That was Neil." What you see is what you get". And we all loved what we got. An unassuming, easy going soul who showed us that if you make a little mistake you laugh and go on, no big deal. The big deal was his faith, his pure and loving heart and a sense of humor that relaxed all in his presence. I always will remember his closing words after a sermon: "Take heart, have faith, go forth." We wish we didn't have to go forth without you Neil.

We were deeply saddened by the news of Neil's passing. I enjoyed his sense of humour and the way he always made a point of engaging in a chat while going about his duties at work. Neil also had a knack for delivering a down to earth sermon. He will certainly be missed by our family and everyone else who's lives he touched.

I had the honor to sell Neil his vehicle ! he is such a fun loving guy. We had many laughs together!

We had heard of the tragic events leading to Neil’s passing. Very sad. We did not know Neil until he started working for the Kipling Coop grocery store.
What a kind, friendly, gentle man. He always knew our Coop number and inquired about family. Know he will be missed.

Neil was such a wonderful and funny person. I will miss seeing or hearing him almost everyday of the week. My dog barked at him everytime he was out back at the coop he only wanted his attention. Neil was so friendly to my dog and myself, my family and everyone else. 

Even the kid he wanted to give away that wasn’t his and I told him that was illegal lol
