

Raymond is lovingly survived by his loving mother Joellia McLeod (Steven), sisters: Tina Smoker, Tammy Kaye, Leslie Kochie, Mandy Kequahtooway, Hazel Whitehat (Billy), Rebecca Kequahtooway, Ylonda Kequahtooway (Jordan), Natasha Kinniwess; brothers Wesley Kequahtooway (Tash) and Jordy Kaye, 23 nieces and nephews including special niece Mya Kochie and special nephew Draydon Kequahtooway, 2 grandchildren, special uncle Lindsay (Ted) Kaye, special aunty Natalie Whitehat, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who love him.
Raymond was predeceased by his father Wesley Kequahtooway, paternal grandparents Thomas and Marie Kequahtooway; maternal grandparents Pat Flamont, Rose Kequahtooway, Ron and Flora Kequahtooway, uncles: Dean Kaye, Bubba Kaye, Patrick Whitehat and little brother Maxwell Kequahtooway in infancy.
Raymond was quiet and a little bit awkward when you would first meet him, but once he was comfortable he was a crazy, funny, dramatic, supportive and loving person. His love for fashion and pictures was clearly shown all the time. He took great pride in all his nieces and nephews and loved them all so much. He will be greatly missed by so many.
The wake was held in Zagime Anishinabek Community Complex on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. The funeral service took place on Thursday, November 9, 2023 beginning with a dinner at 11:00 a.m., with Terry Flamont and Thomas Kequahtooway officiating. The interment followed in the Kaye Family Cemetery.
