Richard Roderick Runns

Richard passed away peacefully in Calgary, AB. The wake will be held in the Carry-the-Kettle Band Hall, Carry-the-Kettle First Nation, SK on Thursday, March 12, 2015. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Donnell and Michelle Thomson and Rev. Bernice Saulteaux officiating. A military service will be held. Interment in the South Cemetery. Predeceased by his wife Florence Runns and son Carl Runns; his parents Claudia and Joseph Runns; his siblings Fred Runns Sr., Leona Ashdohonk, Earl Runns, Gloria Lascelles, Larry Runns, Kenneth Runns and Elmer Runns also two brothers in infancy; his granddaughter Janine Wesaquate. Richard is survived by his children: Ola Eashappie, Gloria Oakes (Jones), Carol Wesaquate (Don), and Connie Wesaquate; his grandchildren: Jonas Wesaquate, Joseph Oakes, Ryan, Jacqueline, Crystal, Ashley, Jesse and Donald Jr. Wesaquate, Savannah and Tyson Wesaquate, Donyrah and Michael Pelletier Jr. and by thirty great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Delmar (Lorraine) Runns and his adopted son Vernon Adams and adopted daughter Cheryl Runns. He served in the Queens Own Rifles as a Peace Keeper (1950 – 1964).
