Rita was predeceased by her son Chase Medicine Rope; father Edgar and mother Anita; brothers Desmond in infancy, Sheldon and Clarence Thompson and sister April Rope.
Rita is survived by her sons: Tyrell, Jeremy, Gilbert and Michael; daughter Sherise; her common law Gilbert Sr., her brothers and sisters Tamara, Tenessa, Landon, Shandel, Chris Prettyshield, Ryan Prettyshield, Dawn Thompson, Jackie Thompson, Lawrence Thompson, Lani Rope, Angie Rope and Holly Rope. She is also survived by Auntie Lorna, adopted sisters (first cousins) Ashley and Emerald and Aunt Dorothy, Uncle Bill, Uncle Conrad and all of her extended family.
Rita’s wake/viewing was held in Tubman Funeral Home, Wolseley on Sunday, October 23, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. a prayer service to followed at 7:00 p.m. Her funeral service was held in Carry The Kettle Community Hall on Monday, October 24, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Interment followed in Carry The Kettle South Cemetery
