Ronald Forrest

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Ron. Ron passed at the age of 82 years in Melville Hospital with family at his side. His memory will forever be cherished by Margaret, his wife of 54 years.

Ron is survived by Margaret; son Kurt (Leona) and Hans; four daughters (better known as Ronnie’s Girls): Rhonda (Kevin) & Megan, Zech and Aaron, Crystal (Shaun) & Shane (Meaghann), Landon and Justin, Dawn (Rob) & Lexie and Jessica, Melissa (Scott) & Ty; very special cousin Sherwin (Marilyn) Derby; sisters Marilyn Toney and Heather Kardash as well as numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews and coffee buddies.

Ron was predeceased by his father Alex Forrest; mother Evangeline Forrest (Derby); mother-in-law Annie Kardash; sister and brother-in-law Alice and John Keen; sister and brother-in-law Evelyn and John Dunford; brother-in-law Bill Toney and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jim and Delores Fuchs.

In years past, Ron served as Councillor for the R.M. for two terms and Reeve for one term. He also served on the School Board, Rec Board, Hospital Board, Vet Service Board, United Church Board of Stewards and was Grenfell’s first President of the Wildlife Federation. He was also a willing volunteer for 4-H and a member of the local riding clubs. He loved his farm, horses and cattle. He loved fishing and hunting and had special places in his heart for Crooked Lake and Deschambault Lake, where so many happy memories were made. Each of his interests he passed along in some way to all his children and grandchildren.

Due to Covid-19, there will be no funeral. An interment will take place at a later date.

Very special thanks to Palliative Care Nurse, Kim, to the doctors, nurses, as well as all support staff. You are all wonderful and I know there is a special place in Heaven for all of you.
