

A reception for family and friends will be held in the Broadview Community Centre on Monday, October 24, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. A family graveside service will be held in the Broadview Cemetery with Pastor Larry Hedman officiating.
Tom was born in Beccles, Suffolk, England and would travel with his family by boat for $9.00 to Canada in 1926. The family settled in the Grenfell area and as a young boy Tom, his brothers and dad would work for various farms extending from Innisfail, Alberta to Goodsoil, Saskatchewan. Eventually Tom would find his best friend for life, Madelene Howarth and they were married in 1951. They farmed north of Broadview shipping cream until 1985. From 1956 to 1973 he worked the night shift at the Creamery in Broadview. Tom and Madge moved into town in 1998 and spent time playing MANY games of cards.
Predeceased by his parents and nine siblings, an infant son John, a daughter Jean Peter in 2013 and an infant grandson Craig Joseph Peter; Tom is survived by his wife Madge; daughters Sandy (Ken) Christie, Wendy (Chris) Schmaltz, Sharon (Terry) Strueby and a son Gary; a son in law Phil Peter; ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the Broadview Hospital and support staff for the excellent care and support given. In lieu of flowers donations in memoriam may be made to the Broadview United Church, Broadview SK S0G 0K0 or to a charity of choice.
