

Al was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Trudy. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Karen Emory, his children, Ryan Emory and Kari Delgado (Miguel), and his grandchildren, Cruz and McKenzi Delgado. He is also survived by his brothers, John and Tim Emory, their beloved extended families, and many lifelong friends.
He was born in Portland, Oregon, on April 18, 1948, and moved to Minnesota as a young boy. He graduated from White Bear Lake High School in 1966 and the University of Minnesota in 1970. Alan worked many years for the City of St. Paul's Department of Planning and Economic Development. He then went on to be a commercial banker and Vice President at Western Bank.
He was a passionate fisherman and enjoyed spending time at the family cabin in northern Minnesota. When he wasn’t telling fishermen tales, he enjoyed telling dad jokes, watching sports, and cheering on local teams. He was the life of the party, making friends with everyone he met. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends and always remembered for his kind heart, infectious laugh, and his enthusiasm for enjoying life.
A celebration of Alan's life will be held on Thursday, March 14th, 2024 from 4 - 7 PM at Sweeney’s Saloon in St.Paul.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the National Kidney Foundation or the American Red Cross.
