Survived by children Elsie and Noelle Pedersen, best friend/co-parent Jessica Pusch, parents James and Yvonne Pedersen, brother Tony Pedersen, nephew Anthony, aunts and uncles Erica Lindemann, Dianne (Dennis) Ehrhardt, Laurie Shepard, Jerry (Dianna) Pedersen, Brenda Lindemann, cousins Nick (Kristen) Lindemann, Joe (Amy) Lindemann, Andy Pedersen, Nicki (Omo) Akhigbe, Cory Pedersen, Mckenna (Robert) Fogle, Kaylee Shepard, and Godmother Lori Stevens.
It is difficult to ever truly confirm the entirety of the events which transpired in the 24 hours prior to his sudden, but mercifully quick and painless death. Yet all privileged to have spent more than a couple hours talking one on one with this unique individual know that he most likely went about the last 24 hours in a manner similar to all of the other hours spent on this earth. For this loving, kind, and unfailingly generous father/husband/son/brother/friend/proud Delta Airlines employee of almost 20 years, most of his days were quite simple. Daily goals were to make sure everyone he loved was taken care of, all responsibilities were satisfied to his unnaturally high standards, and any promises given were followed out to the best of his ability at that time. No one knew that better than daughters Elsie and Noelle, the loves and lights of his life.
This one-of-a-kind creature of habit was born on a beautiful spring morning in Edina, Minnesota on May 14th, 1984, to James Lee Pedersen, and Yvonne No Middle Name Pedersen (nee No Middle Name Lindemann). Younger brother Anthony “Tony” Pedersen followed 15 months later, and Alex took his big brother job seriously from that moment forward. He grew up in south Minneapolis, knowing the love of many family members and friends, where his quick wit, loyalty, and ability to fix any automobile issue were treasured. One didn’t have to know Alex long to realize he was special. An old soul who often lamented the invention of social media, frequently requested Alexa to play “classic country” while hand drying each and every item out of the dishwasher, loved collecting spare change to bring into Wells Fargo, and more than once joked they wanted “Cash is King” written on their tombstone. That will not be happening. Sorry dear.
A unique individual born with a strong work ethic so intrinsically a part of his soul, he became the first ever graduate of Washburn High School (2002) in history to ever not miss a single day of school. Or, at least so goes the story told to his unimpressed children. A man so humble, modest, and terrified of personal recognition and attention, he didn’t even tell his wife about winning a prestigious award at his job with Delta Airlines until ensuring it was no longer feasible to fly down to Atlanta, GA, for the ceremony. The type of father who let his beloved daughters Elsie (6) and Noelle (4), give him makeovers, climb all over him no matter how tired he was after working 10-11 hour days in often harsh weather, and got up early each day before his 4 AM work shift to pack their lunches and everything they needed for the day was in their backpacks. The kind of partner who even though him and his wife of 8 years, had last summer made the extremely difficult and painful conclusion they better served their children, and one another, as best friends and co-parents, still cared so much about her wellbeing that the day he officially was no longer financially responsible for his former house, he left money to cover everything for the next month, paid for the rest of the year’s trash bill, and changed bills into her name. Now as that same partner writes the most difficult, yet most honorable assignment of her life, they find looking back on almost 20 years of having Alexander Pedersen as their friend, crush, boyfriend, husband, father of their children and eternal champion,, all that can be felt is immense gratitude and unfathomable sorrow. It was a wonderful, crazy, unfairly short, but beautiful ride. You are, and always will be loved.
The Memorial Service celebrating the life of Alexander Sean Pedersen will be held on 5/3/25 at 1 PM at Salem Lutheran Church in Woodbury, MN.
