

As the youngest of 10 children, he was the only child born in a hospital to Henry and Elizabeth Antonissen. Art graduated from UW-Madison in 1952 receiving a degree in mechanical engineering and ROTC training. Upon graduation, he served 21 months in the Army and Air Force building airfields in Korea and Japan. In 1954, he began his career at Kimberly Clark in Neenah then Niagara, WI. Art married Patricia Graunke on April 11th, 1959 in Marionette, WI. Art was a life long member of the Methodist Church. Together Art and Pat had daughters: Lynn and Lori. His career took him to engineering jobs in Westfield, MA, Philadelphia, PA, Hartford City, IN concluding in St Paul, MN. In his 29 years with 3M, Art was recognized for his expertise and innovation in the manufacturing of double sided tape. Through the years he purchased equipment abroad, oversaw installation and maintained tape production. He retired in 1994.
His lifelong hobbies were: landscaping and gardening, photography, bridge, square dancing, Christmas lights and village, woodworking, gourmet breakfast buffets, genealogy, cabin life, travel, biking, camping, golfing, fishing, skiing, supporting his 6 grandchildren in their activities and visiting extended family.
Art is survived by Lynn (Dave) Bauer, Lori (Todd) Jenks, grandchildren Derek (Katie), Kaitlin (Mike), Drew (Courtney), Jeremy, Jocelyn, 5 great grandchildren and many loved nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by wife of 53 years, Patricia and grandson Donovan.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, September 17th, 2025 at 11 AM with Visitation one hour prior to service, from 10 AM - 11 AM at The Grove United Methodist Church, 7465 Steepleview Rd, Woodbury, MN 55125. A luncheon will immediately follow at the church. Interment will take place Friday, September 19th, 2025 at 11 AM at the St. Anthony Cemetery in Niagara, WI.
