Brian, your childhood sermon serves as a great minder of the faithful boy you were and the wonderful man you became.  We miss and love you.  We find comfort in your words:  This morning I'm going to preach on the wonderful promises of God that deal with His love for you.  The first promise is the promise of everlasting life.  Turn in your bible to John 3:16.  This scripture is one of the most meaningful of all biblical promises.  It tells how God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for our sins, and if you believe in Him when you die you will not parish but have everlasting life in heaven.  The second promise is the wonderful love of God.  Turn in your bible to Romans 8:35,37-39.  This scripture tells of one thing a Christian can always count on and that is the love of God.  If you know Christ, love Christ, follow Christ, and cleave unto Christ you will receive His love all the rest of your life.  So great and so constant and unvarying is this love of God which we find in Christ that nothing of any sort can separate you from it.  Last of all is the Final Glorious Promise.  Turn in your bible to Revelation 21:3-5.  In this world where this is so much trouble, so much pain, sorrow, and death those who believe in Him have a tremendous victory promised them.  And this victory comes because we are His and He is ours.  So great is His love  that He can dry away tears, stop all death, and make everything become gloriously new.  This is perhaps the great and ultimate truth, that in Christ and God everything is changed: all becomes fresh and new.  The final glorious promise of God's goodness is the triumph of His love over pain and death.  Amen.

JoAnn, our deepest sympathy on the recent lost of Brian. May your faith, family and cherished memories get you thru the difficult time ahead.



I worked with Brian at Sperry back in the early 90's. He and I and Don Johnson would head out for lunch every week.  What a joy he was. When he'd drive to lunch, anytime A light would turn green and the car in front wouldn't move, he'd say hey, it won't get any greener and then laugh like it was the first time he'd heard that and say my dad always said that.  I always have that memory every time I am behind a car that isn't moving when the light is green. Brian touched a lot of people.  Such a nice, sweet guy. Bruce Sandberg
