Dear Donna,  
I just now heard of Bruce's passing.   It breaks my heart to think of you alone.  He was a force to be reconded with.   He was a gentle giant and one of kindest men I ever knew.  I consider myself very fortunate to have lived next door to him for so many years and was thrilled when you found each other.

My deepest sympathies Donna. Bruce will be sadly missed. I will never forget the lessons he taught me on the ambulance, the friendship he gave me throughout the years, and the absolute JOY he brought to the Emergency Department when he walked in! "Ladies and gentleman the citites best Paramedic Bruce Stafford is here!" You can imagine his huge smile that followed. He was loved by all of us at Abbott. God Bless the Stafford Family at this difficult time.

Bruce was my confidant, my captain when we "cruised" the St Croix, my work colleague and partner, my fellow space shuttle launch photographer, groomsman at my wedding, golfing partner, fellow Twins fanatic, fellow "Z-28" racing partner, and simply the wisest person I've ever known.  Better than a brother because I got to pick him.  Best friend a person could ever ask for.  A week ago I hugged and kissed him and told him that I love him, and now I know why.  Thank you God!

I spend some time with Bruce last summer. We were on a fishing trip. Lots happened that week end. First Bruce run out of gas in Donna's car on the way up. 2nd we had to find a place to take on the way home. It just was not running right. Ended up having to have it from St. Cloud. All and all it was a fun weekend.

I have many good memories of working with Bruce when I was on the SSP PD. Bruce was always cheerful and upbeat, even on the major calls. Another one gone way to soon.

The Mendota Heights Police Department send our prayers to Donna and all those who knew and loved Bruce especially his extended family at Health East and Woodbury FD.  It was always a pleasure to see him at calls.  Great guy!
