Passed away surrounded by family after a courageous 6 year battle with Breast Cancer on Monday, May 2, 2016. Cassie served her country honorably with the MN Army National Guard for over 10 years. She was a passionate supporter of Susan G. Komen and Fight for a Cure. Cassie was a wine connoisseur and lover of all things Austin Powers. Her favorite scent was skunk and she was the queen of inappropriate humor, never shying away from saying what was on her mind. Cassie touched so many lives and was an inspiration to many. Her smile lit up a room. She gave everything and never wanted anything in return. Even in her death she proved her generosity and chose to donate her body to Scientific Research at the University of Minnesota’s Bequest Program. She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Mahlia, family and friends. Celebration of Cassie’s life will be Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 5:30pm at the Cedar Street Armory, 600 Cedar St., St. Paul. Inurnment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.
