Clark was a friend to all at the Phalen Golf Course.  I always got a big hug from him when I saw him.  I will miss his smiling face, hard to think that I will not see him play a round of golf again.

Clark was one of the best buddies I have had in my life. Cheryl we are right across the street if you need any help with anything. You are in our prayers as well as the families.

Clark was a part & parcel of our family ever since we were married. Thats only the time following our school and dating days. proud to have my kids call him uncle and happy his kids call us the same.  Every day was speccial. LOL

Recalling Early Days With a Suspect Memory

As best I can recall, from day-one in the 1941 school year, the male contingent at the above elementary school was as follows: 
-- Donnie Kobs
-- Mark Matson
-- Jack Sampson

The female contingent was slightly larger, but relatively unimportant to the three boys listed above. Somewhere along the line, we began to think of ourselves as the Three Musketeers, devoted to fighting against the odds on behalf of right and justice.
The first day for the 4th Grade year provided a problem for our solidarity; to wit a fourth boy showed up, i.e., Bucky Billstein. Thus, we concluded our organization was ruined. Luckily, I searched for and found a children's version of the Dumas book (not in French) and learned that there were four Musketeers  Athos, Aramis, Porthos, and, the hero of the story, D'Artagnan.
Then, the conclusion was automatic, the Four Musketeers is the proper number for the boy-contingent at Brimhall. 
To our consternation, the first day for the Fifth Grade was highlighted by the arrival of another stranger, one Clark Dean Smith. The solution was even easier than actually hearing the Musketeer facts. First, we had forgotten the terminology. Second, Clark was the best possible addition to our gang.

Cheryl:
I opened my email and just could not believe that message I got.  Louise and I have known Snuffy for so long and watched his kids grow up.  Him and I worked together for many years.  We even shared the same office for some time.  I always enjoyed working with him and seeing him at different times.  Like being at Hot Springs.  We enjoyed getting the emails from him and sending him ones from us.  I also remember the trips he would take that he had planned out.  Over the years we have thought about you and Snuffy a lot.  I remember Snuffy telling me he was going with this wonderful person.  The first time we met you I saw how happy you and him were.  I will miss him a lot as he was a friend for a long time an co-worker.  Please except our sympathies and our warmest regards.
