

Passed peacefully with family at his side at Our Lady of Peace Hospice Care. Preceded in death by his loving wife and soulmate of 49 years, Persis Warrick; also his parents and sister. Survived by his daughter, Fay Kulenkamp (Arnie Birnstengel); son, Herb (Ann) Kulenkamp; 4 grandchildren, Ryan Kulenkamp, Sara (Cas) Hoins, Jon Lindstrom, Jim Lindstrom; one adorable great-granddaughter, Mya Hoins; Also survived by 5 children from his previous marriage. Clayton was a proud WWII veteran. He drove an M4 Tractor pulling an anti-aircraft gun for the 184th AAA gun btn. The 184th fought in the Battle of the Bulge downing over 1,000 enemy aircraft. He retired in 1982 from the Post Office in St. Paul, where he met his wife Persis in 1964. After retirement they spent 24 winters in Tucson and summers in Minnesota. Clayton worked part-time as a security guard at Voyager Resort in Tucson where they resided and had many friends. He enjoyed stained glass classes and created a beautiful collection of work. He was an avid Vikings fan and loved watching football. He had a strong Lutheran faith that carried him through the loss of his wife in 2014. He will be dearly missed by family and friends. His family will be forever grateful for the loving professional care he received from the nurses and staff at Our Lady of Peace Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Our Lady of Peace Home at 2076 St. Anthony Ave. St. Paul, MN 55104. Funeral Service 11 am Monday (4/25/16) at Holy Cross Lutheran Church (6355 10th St N, Oakdale) Visitation 10-11 am Monday at church. Interment with military honors in Riverview Cemetery.
