Born on October 31, 1984, in St. Paul, Minnesota, Cody brought light and laughter into the world from the very beginning.
Cody attended Roseville High School and later pursued studies at Rochester Community and Technical College. His thirst for knowledge extended beyond traditional education—he immersed himself in numerous financial and business seminars over the years, always seeking to grow both personally and professionally.
Cody was a true entrepreneur at heart. He built a successful career through Olson’s Irrigation and Landscaping while also pursuing his passion for investing and business ventures. His work ethic was unmatched—driven by determination, creativity, and a deep commitment to providing for those he loved.
Above all else, Cody was a devoted family man. He shared a deep bond with his beloved wife Jolimar Olson and took immense pride in being a father to their two sons: Marcelo, age six, and Noah, who would soon celebrate his second birthday. Cody’s love for his family radiated in everything he did—from holiday gatherings to everyday moments filled with laughter and joy.
Cody lived life with an infectious energy that drew people in. Whether he was lighting up a room with his signature smile or making someone feel like an old friend within minutes of meeting them, he had an extraordinary gift for connection. He was the life of every party—not because he sought attention but because people naturally gravitated toward his warmth, big heart and charisma.
An avid outdoorsman, Cody found peace and exhilaration in nature. He looked forward to hunting with his family and friends and honed his skills in shooting, deer hunting and bird hunting. He loved hiking and biking through Minnesota’s scenic trails, playing rounds of golf with friends new and old, sitting around a bonfire, traveling to explore new places, or sitting down at a poker table where strategy met camaraderie. His adventurous spirit was matched only by his deep appreciation for time spent with loved ones.
Cody’s faith played an important role in his life; he was a member of New Life Church where he found community and spiritual grounding.
In addition to his beloved wife and sons, he is lovingly remembered by his mother Amy Wimmer (Scott Larson), mother-in-law Maria Alvarez, sister Angela Plourde, and his cherished aunts Wendy Wimmer (Mark Netzinger) and Sarah Stinson (Dan Kenitz). Cody was preceded in death by his father Phil Olson, grandparents Charlie and Gene Stinson and grandmother June Benson.
Those who knew Cody will remember him as one of a kind—a hardworking man who balanced ambition with humility; a magnetic personality who made everyone feel seen; a generous spirit always willing to help others; a loving husband, father, son, brother, nephew, cousin, friend; someone whose presence made life brighter.
May his memory bring comfort to all who were fortunate enough to know him.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 27th at 12 pm, with a visitation starting at 11 am, at New Life Church of Woodbury, 6758 Bailey Road.
For those attending in person, the family invites you to bring a physical photo of a cherished memory with Cody.
In lieu of flowers, a GoFundMe has been set up for the Olson Family.
