I did not get the honor to meet Daniel but I'm a friend of Mark's. I know that Daniel must have been one sharp individual to raise such a great son as Mark. For an individual to be smart, kind, respectful and honest only means that his parents were stand up people. I've heard stories of Daniel and he sounded like a great person, one who would light up the room and just put a smile on your face. I hope he lived a full life and brought many smiles and tears to the family through his years.

May he now rest in peace without any suffering and move on peacefully. To the entire Barrett family, may all the great memories of Daniel bring you solace during this time. I hope that all the great moments that you were able to have with him before he left bring you comfort.

My sympathy to Dan’s family. He was a man of great integrity, humility, and kindness to all who knew him. I also worked for Ramsey County. Dan and I often rode the bus together to and from work and we shared many stories about St. Thomas College and life in White Bear Lake. He will be missed by many.
