Delores "Lori" Truso, age 96 of St Paul, passed away peacefully in the loving presence of family on April 8, 2024. Preceded in death by her spouse James, her son-in-law Merriett, and her beloved son Jimmer. Survived by her children, Anita(Rich), Christine, Theresa, daughter-in-law Diane, Janice, and Mimi; Grandchildren, Abby, Nicky, Brandon, Melissa, Tracy, Amanda(Joel), Raja, Phillip(Danielle), Jennie(Jarred), Jamey, and Danielle(Patrick); Great Grandchildren, Ryan, Regan, Ashley, Caleb, Brecken, Landon, Ellie, Camille, Patrick, Jack, and Fynn: Great Great Grandchild, Cash.
Lori came from a large boisterous Irish family growing up on the lower East side, just above Swede Hollow. She was the 6th born of 14 children, and she loved sharing many interesting stories about her childhood and about some of the hardships they faced. It was from here she developed her love of people, her resourceful and strong-willed personality, and her own creative and colorful style. She had a busy life that included LOTS of people. She loved to dance, go to parties, shop for bargains, travel, and she expressed much of her creativity through sewing and jewelry making. She will be remembered for her fun-loving personality, the loads of laughter shared with family and friends, her natural inclination to always want to pitch in and help, pretty much anyone, but mostly for her love of her grandchildren as they brought her the greatest contentment and happiness in her life.
Thank you to the staff at The Willows of Ramsey Hill for the care of our "Little Lori" during the last five years of her life, and for appreciating her tenacity and honoring her uniqueness right up to the end. Much gratitude to Grace Hospice also, for their compassion and kindness in helping our family get through this difficult time.
