Remembering my Mom.  Words cannot express all that I am feeling.   I stand in awe of all that she accomplished and stood for.  A child of the depression, lived with a sick Dad who died when she was 19, leaving her to help my Grandma raise her 11 YO sister, Bobbie.  She was smart, but no money for college, went to work for State of MN, made life time friends.  Met my Dad at the Winter Carnival (rumor was he was autographing hard boiled eggs), had 3 kids, was a work at home Mom, doing typing.  Re joined the workforce at the Chamber of Commerce, gathering statistics.  Enjoyed working with her hands, could sew anything (including a suit for my Dad) Ceramics (We have a lot of ceramic Santa's).  She loved flowers and gardens, could get orchids to rebloom, and loved trees, especially pine trees.  She was afraid of heights, wouldn't look out the upstairs windows, but got on a plane and headed east to meet her first Grandchild, and eventually took the ride to the top of the St. Louis Arch.  Enjoyed football and baseball, more than Dad.   Always an optimist, even in the face of debilitating sickness, she kept moving forward.  She was devoted to my Dad for over 50 years, kept him alive an extra 5 years by her will.  Learned to live alone, adapting to her own disabilities.  The hands that made beautiful decorated cakes, and painted ceramics could not function.  Used a wrench for the past couple of years to open bottles, pour her meds into the respiratory machine, pull the zipper up on her jacket.  She liked to read, especially romance novels.   She liked to go for rides, to see what was going on in the community.  She loved fast foods, could eat a hamburger at 10 AM, and really liked grilled hot dogs.   She was patriotic, loyal, could be sarcastic, loving, curious, tough, gracious, and generous.  I miss you Mom, I hope I can remember all that you have taught me and pass it on.  I have been blessed to have you for my Mom.

Mom I will miss you forever. The most valuable thing  that nobody can take is the memory's of our time together.  I know your with Dad and your grandson Steve  and knowing that you won't be alone ever again gives me peace.

Eileen was preceded in death by her Husband, Donald; Sister, Roberta; Grandson, Steven; and Great-Grandson, Joey.

She will be deeply missed by her Children, Barbara (David) Whittemore, Sheli (Tom) Porcello, and Rob (Cathy) Mix; Grandchildren, Jamie Whittemore, Jeffrey (Kelly) Whittemore, Gregory (Emily) Whittemore, Lisa (Chad) Knapp, Michael Porcello, and Robert (Melanie) Mix; Great-Grandchildren, Christopher, Elizabeth, Nicholas, Benjamin, Alan, Evie, Aaron, Madison, Rylee, and Charlotte; Nieces, Nephews, other Family and Friends.
