Elizabeth Jean Wilkens

Age 76 of Woodbury, MN, passed away on January 14, 2023. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Always one to offer her help to anyone, she was a beautiful light in this world, and one that will be greatly missed by all.

Liz was born in Crookston, MN on June 25, 1946 and would eventually move to East Grand Forks, MN where she attended school at Sacred Heart. Soon after she began working at the University of North Dakota, where she remained for 42 years, until her retirement. On August 2, 1969 she married Ronald Wilkens and resided in Grand Forks, ND. Their only child, Lindsay, was born in 1977. Elizabeth was also affectionately known as "Bebe" to many, and for her contagious laugh and huge dimples. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, and doing word searches, but above all she loved her family immensely. It was this love that led her and Ron to move to Woodbury, MN in 2011 where she spent most of her time doting over her grandchildren.

Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Lindsay (Kevin) Peters and grandchildren, Natalie and Cade Peters (Cottage Grove, MN), sister, Paulette (Bob) Larson (Las Vegas, NV), brothers, Larry (Steve) Bushy Benoit (Nevada City, CA), Dennis Bushy and Mike (Jackie) Bushy (all of Moorhead, MN), Robert (Colleen) Bushy, Patrick (Kathy) Bushy, and sister-in-law, Carol Bushy (all of East Grand Forks, MN). As well as sisters-in-law, Laurie (Gary) Mathisen (Grand Forks, ND), Sherry Johnson (Battle Ground, WA), and brother-in-law, Donald (Gail) Wilkens (Thief River Falls, MN).

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Ron, parents, Robert and Bernice Bushy, brother, Joe Bushy, and her grandparents. Also nephews, Mark Bushy and Jason Pagnac.

Visitation will be held at Wulff Funeral Home (Woodbury, MN) on March 31st from 5-7pm. A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor in Grand Forks, ND later this summer.
