Emily M. Bliss, age 97, of Lake Elmo, MN and Hobe Sound, FL, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2026, Easter Saturday—a time that held deep meaning in her faith throughout her life.

In this sacred season of renewal and resurrection, her family finds comfort in the belief that she was welcomed into eternal life with the Lord she so faithfully loved.

Emily was born on January 3, 1929, in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Frank and Emily (St. Marie) Haggerty. She was the beloved matriarch of our family, a role she carried with grace, strength, and unwavering love. Known for her radiant smile and infectious laughter, she had a special way of lighting up any room and bringing people together.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Emily (St. Marie) Haggerty; her beloved husband, Gerald Bliss; her brothers, Frank, Robert, and William Haggerty; and her son-in-law, Robert J. Van Krevelen.

Emily is survived by her children: Kathleen Van Krevelen, Debra Jungclaus, Gerald (Joanie) Bliss Jr., James Bliss, Thomas (Debora) Bliss, and Suzanne Bliss (Bobby Johansen). She also leaves behind a large and cherished legacy through her grandchildren: Stephanie Bliss; Bob (Andra Cekalla) Van Krevelen; Jay (Rochelle) Van Krevelen; Jeff Bliss; Katie (Matt) Adolfson; Missy (Joe) Bottineau; Luke (Kelsey) Abbott; Alana (Joseph) Bliss; Emily (Cole) Bennett; Kevin Bliss; Gabriel (Joie) Bliss; AJ Abbott; Dustin (Betsy) Bliss; Matt (Julie) Jungclaus; Joe (Sammy) Jungclaus; Chris (Ana) Hayes; and Bryan Hayes.

She was further blessed with 27 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren, with two more bundles of joy expected in 2026—continuing her legacy of love and joy.

Emily’s life was deeply rooted in faith, family, and kindness. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered, with the peace of knowing she is now home in heaven.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 12, at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Oakdale (8260 4th Street North). Visitation will take place at the church one hour prior to Mass. Burial will follow immediately after the service.
