Glorice Hill Hansen

September 22, 1930 – August 3, 2025
Obituary of Glorice Hill Hansen
IN THE CARE OF

Wulff Woodbury Funeral Home

Glorice (Hill) Hansen, age 94, passed away peacefully on the morning of August 3, 2025, in Stillwater, Minnesota, with her family at her side.

Glorice was born at home on a farm near Lennox, South Dakota, to O.G. and Mary Hill. She was one of six children raised on a family farm near Brookings, where she learned the values of hard work, faith, and family. Her early years were filled with memories of tree swings, barn chores, walks to town, and playful adventures with her siblings.

She was confirmed in 1945 at First Lutheran Church in Brookings and remained deeply committed to her Christian faith. Her favorite hymn was “How Great Thou Art,” and her life verse was Joshua 24:15:

“Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve... But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

While attending Augustana College, Glorice met Mick Hansen at a campus watermelon feed. She was drawn immediately to his warmth, kindness, and sense of humor — a trait that kept her smiling for the next 48 years. Their relationship was filled with joy, laughter, and partnership, and they often made those around them laugh as much as they did each other. They married on June 30, 1951, and built a life together in Omaha, Nebraska, raising their children and creating a home where faith, love, and humor were daily companions.

Their children are:

• Richard “Rick” Hansen and his wife Kris of Moorpark, CA, and their children Kate (Hansen) Gregg and Sam Hansen

• Cheryl (Hansen) Mulhausen and her husband John of Stillwater, MN, and their children Andrea (Mulhausen) Johnson, Lindsey (Mulhausen) Soderlind, and Hannah Mulhausen (Gant)

• Robert “Rob” Hansen and his wife Pilar of Allen, TX, and their children Lucas Hansen, Hunter Hansen, and Michalea Hansen

Glorice worked at Northwestern Bell, while Mick worked at Mutual of Omaha. Although she valued her work, her greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother to eight, and great-grandmother to seven. She prayed faithfully for each of them, giving God the credit for every blessing in her life.

After Mick’s passing in 1999, Glorice was later blessed with a second loving marriage to Ray Morris of Omaha. They married on November 14, 2003, and shared 13 happy years together until Ray’s passing in December 2016.

In her later years, Glorice moved to Stillwater, Minnesota, to be near her daughter Cheryl. . Though she faced difficult health challenges, she did so with faith and courage, continuing to pray faithfully for those she loved. Her quiet strength and devotion remain a lasting example for her family.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Mick Hansen; her second husband, Ray Morris; her parents, O.G. and Mary Hill; and her sisters Carol Ann Holmes, Rosemary Stordahl, and Fern Skoglund.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her siblings Ordelle Hill and Adeline Foss.

A celebration of Glorice’s life will be held on October 18, 2025 at 10:30 am, at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Sun City West, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lakeview Hospice of Stillwater, Minnesota.

“When I die, I believe I will go home to be with Jesus… I do die, but the best is yet to come.”
