

Jim suffered with Dementia for the past 6-7 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Helen (Mayer) Bartow of New England, ND, his sister-in-law Sandra (Berg) Bartow of Wilton, ND and his brother-in-law Vance Prezler of Bismarck, ND. He is survived by his wife Bonnie (Willer) Bartow, son Craig (Donna) Bartow of River Falls, WI, and daughter Heather (Ben) Fleetham of Woodbury, MN. Jim has 3 grandchildren, Dylan Bartow, Tilly Fleetham and Oliver Fleetham, and 2 step grandchildren, Chayton Penning and Kevin Penning.
Jim went to school in New England, ND, graduated from New England High School in 1963. He joined the army the same year and spent time in Ft. Leonard Wood MO after which time he was sent to Germany. During his service he received the Good Conduct Medal, Sharpshooter (Rifle) Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He received an honorable discharge May 28, 1966, at which time he returned to his home in New England, ND. In June of 1967 he met his now wife, Bonnie. They were married in June of 1968. After their marriage Jim and Bonnie moved to Bakersfield, CA where Jim got a job in finance/collections where he was transferred several times. Jim and Bonnie lived in Bakersfield, Covina and San Jose. Jim was last working as an FHA 203k Consultant. They eventually ended up in Woodbury, MN where they have resided for the last 30 years.
Jim always enjoyed the game of golf, and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Wulff Funeral Home in Woodbury, MN from 4-7pm.
