James Michael Douvier

James is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Barbara, daughter Cathy and sons Bob, John and Michael along with seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren as well as his sister Dorothy.

James was born in Collegeville, MN on the grounds of the St. John's Abbey where he spent the next 21 years of his life.

James graduated from St. John's Prep high school in 1951. He served in the Army in the 1950's including overseas in West Germany. James went on to St. Cloud St where he graduated with a Degree in Business Management. He married Barbara in 1969 who was widowed with three young children.

Like St. Cloud granite, James Douvier’s work can be seen all over Minnesota. Working 41 years for Minnesota Department of Transportation (MN DOT) he secured land to build highways as The Right of Way manager.

James lived in St. Paul then in Woodbury for the last 35 years. A devout Catholic James and Barbara worshipped at St. Ambrose Church.

A Mass of Christian Burial for James will be held Monday, October 30, 2023 at 11:30 AM at Saint Ambrose of Woodbury Catholic Church, 4125 Woodbury Drive, Woodbury, Minnesota 55129, with a visitation one hour prior. Following Mass will be a procession with motorcycle escort to an interment with military honors at 1:30 PM at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
