She met the love of her life, Steven Carl Welter, when she was just 13 years old. They married young, their life took off quickly and never slowed. All she ever wanted in life from the time she was young, was to be a wife, mother and grandmother and she did it all beautifully. Together, they raised their 4 daughters: Jacqueline, Sara, Suzanne and Amelia. Jeanne was treasured by her siblings, friends and family for her kindness, gentleness and fun loving nature, her sense of humor was immaculate and infectious, and her generous heart impacted many lives. Jeanne passed unexpectedly in her home on Friday, March 17th, 2023.
Preceded in death by her mother Gertrude Groppoli (Coates), father Joseph Groppoli, Step-mother Carol Groppoli (Jessen), husband Steven Carl Welter, brother Daniel Groppoli, granddaughter Evvy Havah Bocklund.
Jeanne will remain in the hearts of her daughters, Jacqueline Francis Welter, Sara Jeanne Bocklund (Matthew) Suzanne Elizabeth Hamburge (Anthony) and Amelia Jo Gottschalk (Jake), grandchildren; Caitlyn, Mattison, Sophia, Isaiah, Padraig, Avarie, Peyton, Olivia, Grace, Jack, Jonathan, Lucy, Harper, her siblings Joe (Linda), LeeAnn, Mary (Paul), Trudy, Luca and her many nieces and nephews and friends.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at 12:00 pm with Visitation one hour prior to service from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm at Calvary Assembly of God Church, 2988 60th Ave, Wilson, Wisconsin 54027. Interment will immediately follow at Union Cemetery, 2505 Minnehaha Ave E, Maplewood MN 55119. All are invited to a Reception following the burial with food and drink and shared memories of Jeanne’s life at The Loft at Studio J, 214 Main Street S., Stillwater, MN. The Reception will open at 3:00 pm. Please check back for any updates.
