

Larry was born on July 16, 1944 in St. Paul, MN to Howard and Dorothy (Goffin) Rucker. He graduated from Harding High School. Larry served his country in the United States Army and fought in the Vietnam War. Upon returning to the United States, Larry worked as a mechanic for American Hoist and earned his associate’s degree in business Contracting. He then worked most of his life building homes in the Washington County area of Minnesota.
Larry enjoyed taking road trips during the winter months to Corpus Christi, Texas and Pensacola, Florida. He raced cars at the Cedar Lake Speedway when he was young, taking ferry rides to the Mississippi Pub in South St. Paul, and traveling to Elsworth for fish frys and to the creamery.
He is survived by his daughter Lisa (Dean) Grohs, Stone Lake, WI; grandsons Mitchel and Christopher; brothers Jerry (Ginger) Rucker, Ray Rucker, Donny Rucker; sisters Carol Blake and Joanne Mendez; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Richard, Tommy and Jimmy.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, February 6, 2026 at Wulff Funeral Home in Woodbury MN, with a visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
The family kindly requests no fresh flowers or blooming plants.
