Lester, 92, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2015 at Boutwells Landing in Stillwater, MN. He spent 30 years as the Chief Executive Officer of the Willmar Regional Treatment Center. He was a World War II veteran, earning a Bronze Star and Purple Heart award. He was active for many years in Willmar and Kandiyohi County civic groups. Lester was born in Sibley County, Minnesota to Louis and Blenda Johnson. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Margaret nee Foley; parents; and his brothers, Willard and Merton. Survivors include his children, Stephen and wife Jennifer, Blend Ingalls and husband Larry, Katherine Sue Landers and husband Michael, and Peter; grandchildren, Sarah Ingalls, John Ingalls, Patrick Landers and wife Leah, Matthew and wife Anna, and Rebecca Head and husband Jason; and great-grandchildren, David Johnson, Izaiah Head, and Jeremy Head. The funeral service was held on January 15, 2016 at the Diamond Grove Cemetery in Jacksonville, IL under the direction of Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
