Mary Beth Alberg passed away at the age of 50 on March 29, 2017 at home after a long fight with cancer. Mary was born on June 17, 1966 in St. Paul, MN. She served proudly for 13 years in the Marine Corp. “Semper Fi”. Mary continued serving her community as a St. Paul Police Officer, in many capacities for over 20 years. She has received many commendations including Police officer of the year in 2008. Her badge 314 was retired on March 29, 2017. She greatly cherished her extended family at the St. Paul Police Department, and loved serving her community so much. She is survived by her son, Brian Alberg; mother, Helen Alberg; siblings, Chris (John) Eisenschenk, Steve (Diane) Alberg, Patty (Rob) Trulen, Cindy (Richard) Naessen, Joe (Judy) Alberg, John (Laura) Alberg and Laurie (Terry Schefler) Alberg; also many nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by son Patrick Alberg and father Edwin Alberg. Visitation will be held at 9 am Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Transfiguration Catholic Church, 6133 15th Street N. Oakdale, MN 55128, with a celebration of her life at 10:00 am. Inurnment at Union Cemetery will follow with military honors.
